Robert Quinn among Bears dealing with minor injuries at training camp

Quinn, Nichols, Jenkins, Jackson and Ifedi are all dealing with injuries Wednesday

LAKE FOREST – Several Bears players are already dealing with injuries ahead of the team’s first practice on Wednesday at Halas Hall.

Safety Eddie Jackson (hamstring), offensive tackle Germain Ifedi (hip flexor) and offensive tackle Teven Jenkins (back tightness) will not practice Wednesday, according to Bears head coach Matt Nagy.

Robert Quinn (back) and Bilal Nichols (toe) are expected to be limited participants in practice. The Bears practice at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Nagy said Quinn is dealing with the same injury that forced him to sit out veteran minicamp in June.

“I don’t have concerns,” Nagy said of Quinn’s status moving forward.

Quinn started the 2020 season battling an injury. He missed the season opener against the Detroit Lions. He was a big free agent signing for the Bears in 2020, but recorded only two sacks for the season.

Defensive tackle Eddie Goldman is expected to practice for the first time since 2019 after opting out of the 2020 season and sitting out the offseason program this spring. Nagy said he wasn’t sure if Goldman would show up for training camp until he did on Tuesday.

“We had no idea,” Nagy said. “I got a text message that he was here. I did the emoji thing with the thumbs up.”
