1 of 3 drunken golfers cursed, threw golf ball at golf course employee

Wife came to pick up two drunk golfers

ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP – One of three drunken golfers threw a golf ball at a golf course employee after he asked them to return a golf cart, according to Kane County Sheriff’s reports.

Deputies were called to Tanna Farms Golf Club, 39W808 Hughes Road, Blackberry Township at about 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 10 for a report of disorderly conduct.

Three white men had participated in a golf activity there, and upon leaving, they returned to their cars in the parking lot using one of the carts belonging to the golf club, the report stated.

An employee approached and asked them to return the cart; at first they complied and apologized for taking it, the report stated.

But after the employee took possession of the cart, one of them threw a golf ball at him and began cursing at him, the report stated.

The three appeared to be intoxicated. And once the employee realized the trio were not leaving, he told them he would call police, the report stated.

The employee said the golf ball did not hit him and he did not want to press charges, he just wanted them to leave, the report stated.

A deputy spoke to two of the three who were still in the parking lot, who said while they were golfing, they were also drinking and became intoxicated, the report stated.

The two claimed the employee had began cursing them first and they cursed back, the report stated.

The pair also denied throwing a golf ball at the employee, the report stated.

The wife of one of the men came to pick both of them up, the report stated.
