Bureau County Courthouse goes to appointment only to mitigate COVID exposure

PRINCETON — Until further notice, the Bureau County Courthouse will be open by appointment only.

Sheriff Jim Reed in a news release stated that it is "a necessary step to protect the health of all Bureau County employees, residents and visitors that need to conduct business at the courthouse."

The sheriff encourages people to utilize online services in order to reduce in-person visits. If an in-person is necessary, contact that respective office to schedule an appointment. Contact information for all county offices and agencies can be located on the Bureau County website at bureaucounty-il.gov.

A mask that covers the nose and mouth will be required by all those entering the courthouse and all persons entering will have their temperature screened. Those exhibiting symptoms will be denied entry.

Call the office if you wish to visit for an appointment before going to the courthouse.
