Show support for medical community heroes: Stay home or wear a mask

Letters to the editor Sauk Valley

To the editor:

I would like to publicly thank the housekeeping staff, the lab techs, the physical therapists, the respiratory therapists, the nurses, and the doctors who have been risking their lives and their own family’s health by taking such good care of the COVID-19 positive patients at CGH Medical Center, and at all of the hospitals and nursing homes in the area.

It is painful to see the hospital staff with red welts and bruises on their faces and necks resulting from wearing the tight protective masks for many hours, day after day, as they care for extremely ill patients and try to help their families communicate with them. These dedicated medical people are successfully treating some patients and sending them home, but they may also be the last human contact your loved ones have before they die.

Please show that you care about our medical community heroes by staying home or wearing a mask and social distancing when you need to go out.
