La Salle County coronavirus update: COVID-related deaths reach 125

Positivity rate continues to trend slightly down

La Salle County reached 125 COVID-related deaths Wednesday since the beginning of the pandemic.

A man and a woman, both in their 80s, died from complications related to COVID-19, according to the La Salle County Health Department.

There have been 57 COVID-related deaths in La Salle County since Nov. 1, which is roughly 45% of the county's total.

Additionally, there were 130 new confirmed and probable cases, increasing the number of active cases to 2,350.

There have been 5,820 cases countywide since the start of the virus, and of those, 3,345 individuals have been removed from isolation, including 33 more Wednesday.

On Sunday, the latest data available from the Illinois Department of Public Health, 17% of 400 La Salle County residents tested were positive for the virus. From Nov. 16 to Nov. 22, La Salle County has had a 15.7% positivity rate — it's lowest seven-day rate since Oct. 28 to Nov. 3.

Three boys younger than 13, a girl younger than 13, six teenage boys, five teenage girls, 13 men in their 20s, 12 women in their 20s, 17 men in their 30s, eight women in their 30s, nine men in their 40s, six women in their 40s, seven men in their 50s, 10 women in their 50s, nine men in their 60s, nine women in their 60s, three men in their 70s, three women in their 70s, three men in their 80s, four women in their 80s, a man in his 90s and a woman in her 90s.

The IDPH's ZIP code data (which sometimes lags behind county numbers) report, with increases since Tuesday, shows:
