Letter: Seward Township Republican caucus Dec. 1

To the Editor:

Attention Seward Township Republicans:

This is your opportunity to have your voice heard within Seward Township. A caucus has been called by the Republican party for Seward Township registered voters who have taken out a Republican ballot within the past four primary elections. The purpose of the caucus is to nominate a slate of Seward Township Officers to be placed on the Republican ballot for the April 6, 2021 consolidated election.

You may participate in person at Seward Township Hall, 14719 O’Brien Road, Minooka, beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday Dec. 1. You may also participate online by pre-registering no later than Nov. 29.

To register, participate, and cast your vote online you must be over 65 or have chronic health issues that may be affected by COVID-19. You will need to submit an affidavit, including a phone number and email address, that you are over age 65 or are at risk due to COVID-19. This document along with a copy of a valid State ID and Voter Card must be received by Nov. 29 to: Sheila A. Information on how to join the caucus will be provided on the Facebook page or by email request. The online participants must be available online to receive additional information starting at 7 p.m. during the caucus in order to vote. Voting procedures for online participants will be secure and announced during the caucus.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, if it is not possible to hold a caucus at the Township Hall, all participants will participate online. In the event the governor announces alternate procedures or cancels caucuses, this information will be posted on the Facebook page or emailed to you.
