La Salle County residents may wake up Tuesday morning to snow accumulations.
The first snow accumulation of the season is on its way, according to weather forecasts.
Parts of La Salle County could see anywhere from less than an inch of snow to the south and southeast to 2-3 inches of snow in the northwest in the Mendota and Earlville areas, according to the National Weather Service.
Ottawa and La Salle-Peru could see an inch or so, but most of the snow is expected to accumulate north of Interstate 80.
Snow is expected to begin at about 2 a.m. Tuesday and taper off into rain at about 9 a.m.
Prepare for extra travel time as the roads may be slushy to travel in the morning. Temperatures are expected to reach highs in the mid-40s by the afternoon Tuesday.
