La Salle library building closed, but operations open

La Salle Public Library’s building is closed to the public because of the increase in COVID-19 cases. However, library operations remain open.

Curbside service for book checkouts and other library materials is available to patrons from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Reserving materials and pickup times can be arranged by calling the library at 815-223-2341.

Interlibrary loan services still are available through PrairieCat. The library is receiving daily deliveries to fill patron holds.

Library staff also is available to help patrons with reference/informational questions over the phone or online. Limited computer access for patrons who need to print from a library computer or who need to complete an unemployment form or job application can be arranged by calling 815-223-2341 to schedule a time. Faxing and photocopying services are also available.

Patrons are asked to return all materials in the outdoor book returns in the drive-up lane.

Online e-books, full-text magazine/journal articles, the genealogy database, virtual programs, and archived programs are accessible at lasalle.lib.il.us. If patrons want to register or renew a library card, contact Cristy Stupegia at cstupegia@lasalle.lib.il.us or 815-223-2341.
