Gentlemen's club patron falls asleep, thinks he was robbed

Oops, never mind: 'My bad, then'

ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP – A customer at a gentlemen’s club in St. Charles Township reported that he discovered $400 was taken from his bank account after he fell asleep in a back room following a private dance, according to Kane County sheriff’s reports.

As it turned out, he wasn't. But he didn't know that at the time he told deputies he was at Blackjacks Gentlemen’s Club, 7N657 Route 25, St. Charles Township, on the evening of Oct. 22 and was awakened at 10 p.m. by the bouncer, the report stated.

The customer said his belt was on backwards and his shirt was removed, the report stated.

He had consumed about four or five beers before going to the club and told deputies that does not take any street drugs or prescribed drugs, so he didn’t know why he could not remember the events of that night, the report stated.

The following morning, he told deputies he saw what he believed was an unauthorized withdrawal of $400 from his bank account at 8:10 p.m., the report stated.

The customer told deputies that he believed that either the bouncer or the dancer had taken his wallet and ATM card, made the charge, then returned the wallet and card without his knowledge, the report stated.

Deputies met with Blackjacks’ management Nov. 5 and were shown a receipt for a transaction for $450 – not $400 – at 8:14 p.m. with a signature, copies of the ATM card used, the Illinois ID attached to it and a video of the customer standing at the counter, appearing to make the cash withdrawal and speaking to staff, the report stated.

When deputies reported the details back to the customer, he replied, “My bad, then.”
