Some Halloween activities canceled in Marseilles

Chamber's Saturday event still on

Trick-or-treating Friday at Marseilles City Hall has been canceled.

The City Hall was closed earlier this week as a precautionary measure from a possible COVID-19 exposure. Children, however, are invited to stop by the City Hall for a trick-or-treating bag next week.

The building is expected to reopen Monday, Nov. 2, and be available as a voting site for Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

In addition to trick-or-treating at City Hall being canceled, Haunted Trunks scheduled Saturday at IV Cellular in Marseilles also has been canceled out of precaution for the virus. Bingo at the American Legion also has been postponed.

The first Halloween at the Chamber event, scheduled 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the red caboose, at 135 Washington St. still is scheduled. Free candy and water will be distributed and children will have a chance to win a special balloon creation.
