No active cases of COVID-19 in Heritage Health Peru building

Staff will notify family members of new cases

There are no active cases of COVID-19 in the building of Heritage Health in Peru.

While the Illinois Department of Public Health reports the facility as a current nursing home outbreak, Heritage Health representatives said Wednesday there has been one case since Oct. 22 and the individual is not in the building.

The nine cases the state health department has reported at Heritage Health take into consideration all of the facility's cases dating back to when the pandemic began.

The IDPH considers a 28-day window when it releases information about outbreaks.

“We notify family members, employees and residents whenever there is a new positive in the building, according to our COVID communication protocol," said Lori Walsh, administrator at Heritage Health Peru. "We have no active COVID cases in the building at this time.”

No resident has tested positive at Heritage Health Peru, according to Melissa Beaver, vice president of community relations and marketing.

There is a phase classification in which facilities are categorized, from 1 to 3, with 3 being the least restrictive for visits and preventative measures. Heritage Health Peru is in phase 1 at this time.
