LETTER: Judge Daugherity qualified, compassionate, and sincere

To the Editor:

The Judiciary doesn't generate the political advocacy or expend the funds for messages that we all see as this election approaches.  However, the selection of truly qualified judges is critically important to the well being of our communities and the comfort of knowing that qualified, compassionate, and sincere individuals are serving in our court system.

Certainly not all issues that come before a judge are clear as to their appropriate resolution. Judges rely upon legal precedent, knowledge of the law and the facts involved, then most importantly exercise their judgment to arrive at a fair and equitable decision. In that regard, I can state with confidence my belief that there is no individual better qualified to do so than incumbent Circuit Court Judge Eugene P. Daugherity.

Prior to being appointed, then elected as a Circuit Court Judge he engaged for many years in a very successful law practice here in La Salle County, where he was born, raised, and has chosen to serve and reside. He has proven and only improved his legal reputation and credentials since. Judge Daugherity is scholarly, intelligent, extremely knowledgeable of the law, fair, compassionate, and equitable.

Please cast your vote for this important position and vote to retain Judge Daugherity at the upcoming election, and beyond that inform and engage your friends and family to do so as well. Please vote yes to retain Eugene "Gene" P. Daugherity as Circuit Court Judge of the 13th District.
