There are at least 38 cases of COVID-19 among La Salle County nursing homes.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported there have been new cases reported at Liberty Village of Peru - Manor Court and at Heritage Health Peru in the past 28 days.

Facilities must test all staff and residents weekly. There may be a lag time between when the facilities report to the county health department and then to the IDPH.

At least 44 of La Salle County's 61 COVID-19 related deaths have come from nursing home outbreaks – 43 of those from outbreaks considered "closed" by the IDPH. Ten deaths were reported at Aperion Care Marseilles from complications related to COVID-19, 24 deaths at Heritage Health Mendota, seven at La Salle County Nursing Home, one at Streator Unlimited and one at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.

An outbreak is considered closed when there has been no cases within the past 28 days.
