Illinois Valley Toy Run rescheduled for Oct. 25

PRINCETON — The 16th annual Illinois Valley Toy Run has been rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, due to inclement weather.

Show hours for the largest, charity classic car event in Bureau County will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton.

The only entry fee is a new $10, unwrapped toy for a boy or girl of any age.

The show is organized to help families in need this Christmas and the veterans home in LaSalle with scholarship money going to the auto shop class at LaSalle-Peru High School.

Cash donations are accepted for those who want to help, but don’t have a classic car.

There will be door prizes and a 50-50 drawing with music provided by AMC Sound and DJ Service.

The event will also include a 40-mile round-trip countryside cruise, exploring Bureau County’s historic attractions, such as the Red Covered Bridge and the Captain Swift Bridge. It will also feature driving through the Psycho Silo Saloon.

For more information, call 815-883-1901 or visit the Illinois Valley Toy Run Facebook page.

The Illinois Valley Toy Run was originally scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18 but organizers postponed it due to the weather forecast.
