All early voting locations now open in DeKalb County

All early voting locations in DeKalb County are open ahead of the Nov. 3 General Election, though one early voting location, Holmes Student Center on Northern Illinois University campus, won't be a same-day voter registration site this year.

The update was confirmed Monday by DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder Doug Johnson

"Holmes Student Center will no longer be an Election day voter registration site," Johnson said in an email Monday. "Voters can register to vote at the polling place that serves their address on election day, as always."

The NIU site has been used in past years to register voters, including students, on the same day of the election, but will remain an option for those wishing to early vote.

Additional guidelines are being put in place for polling locations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and those waiting in line are asked to stand 6 feet apart and wear a face covering.
