Lanes closures start Monday on Route 64 in St. Charles for water main repairs

ST. CHARLES – Lane closures on Route 64 (Main Street) are required from 1 p.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Wednesday for the St. Charles Public Works Water Division to make repairs to a water main.

Water service for residential or businesses customers will not be affected by the work.

The eastbound lanes of Route 64 64 from Lakeside Drive to Kirk Road will be closed. The right lane turn lane from Route 64 to South Kirk Road also will be closed.

There will be new lane configurations on Route 64 to accommodate the lane closures. Motorists are asked to follow all detour and construction signage. They should expect heavy traffic delays and consider taking alternative routes.

Message boards alerting drivers of the upcoming construction have been placed on eastbound Route 64. Lakeside Drive can be used to access to Panera Bread and First American Bank.

Motorists should be aware of the workers and construction traffic. There will be a significant amount of truck traffic daily removing excavated materials and bringing in road repair materials.
