New Lenox essential workers receive donation

Members of the Lincoln-Way GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Illinois presented local essential workers with checks totaling $900 on Sept. 22, 2020 in the New Lenox Commons.

Donations were given to Trinity Services, New Lenox CERT and New Lenox Emergency Services.

The club raised the money from its Ribbons of Hope Virtual 5K which honored essential workers and generated participants from all 50 states.

The General Federation of Women's Clubs is an international charity organization that works to improve the communities it serves through volunteer service.

The Lincoln-Way GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Illinois welcomes new members. Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.
