Geneva's Foxfire Restaurant closes temporarily due to COVID-19

Eatery announces abundance of caution in temporary closure

GENEVA – Foxfire Restaurant, at 17 W. State St., Geneva, announced on social media Tuesday that it was temporarily closing due to cautions regarding the coronavirus.

“Today we got word that our staff may have come into contact with an individual who tested positive with COVID-19,” the posting stated.

“FoxFire is sorry to announce that we have to close temporarily due to COVID-19 precautions.

We hope to reopen soon, and taking every possible measure to inform our guests and employees,” the posting stated. “We hope this is just an isolated event.”

The restaurant does not have to close, it is choosing to close by following guidelines to keep Geneva and “our Foxfire family safe.”

“We ask ask that you have patience and understanding as we do this,” the posting stated. “We will announce when we can reopen when we receive word from the health department.

Thank you everyone for your support through this pandemic – we hope that this is another stepping stone on the road to recovery for everyone.”
