Country Financial donates $3K to Campton Hills police

Donation will assist department with equipment upgrade

CAMPTON HILLS – The North Aurora Country Financial office presented Campton Hills Village President Michael Tyrrell with a $3,000 check on Sept. 24 from Country Financial’s Operation Helping Heroes program, officials announced in a news release.

Country Financial’s Operation Helping Heroes program is devoted to helping buy equipment and supplies for first responders, medical workers, and military service members.

“This is a wonderful and unexpected gift during these unusual times,” Tyrrell stated in the release. “ We greatly appreciate Mike Bartow and Mike Kramer for thinking of the village in their generosity.”

Police Chief Steve Millar stated in the release that the donation will “greatly assist our department in upgrading and replacing essential equipment.”

“We are a small department with a small budget, so we work very hard to make every dollar count,” Millar stated in the release.

In April, Country Financial announced it was donating $3 million through its Operation Helping Heroes program, to first responders, medical workers and military service members in the communities where it does business, according to a news release.

Operation Helping Heroes was created in 2015 to support non-profit organization that support active duty service members, veterans and their family members.The program was expanded in 2019 to include first responders and medical workers, thenews release stated.
