OSF St. Elizabeth caregivers honored for exceptional care

OSF Healthcare has honored two staff members, Jennifer Hauser, a registered nurse in Ottawa, and Haley Aubrey of Utica.

Hauser received the DAISY Award that recognizes nurses on behalf of the DAISY Foundation. She has worked at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center for nearly two years in the medical/surgical acute unit.

She was nominated by a patient’s caregiver, who said “If I had to choose someone who far exceeds expectations of quality care it would be Jen. She blends education, care and compassion. She excels at the emotional, mental and physical well-being of the patient.”

Aubry has earned the Sunflower Award, a recognition program for non-nursing staff members. Aubry has worked with OSF for nine years and currently works in the obstetrics acute unit as an OB technician.

“It means so much to me that you value your patients,” said the patient who nominated her. “Thank you for answering all my questions and helping us with the car seat base and continually making sure my son and I were OK. I can tell you take your job seriously and that makes me feel valued as a patient and a woman. You made an impact on me and made me feel comfortable and confident.”
