DuPage County reports 107 new COVID-19 cases Monday, 1 death

The DuPage County Health Department on Monday reported 107 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, and one death, a woman in her 60s.

The county now has seen a total of 17,542 coronavirus cases including 561 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of September 22 was 95.7%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen two days of positivity increases and two days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased slightly to 5.4%. Currently, 30% of medical/surgical beds are available and 41% of ICU beds.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,709 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13 additional deaths Monday.

By town, Wheaton has had 750 total cases, Glen Ellyn 560, Lombard 850, Villa Park 498, Hinsdale 349, Westmont 568, Darien 319, Downers Grove 699, Elmhurst 890, Warrenville 255 and Winfield 158. Addison has had 1,286 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,278, Carol Stream 924 and West Chicago 1,158.
