A crash involving two motorcycles Sunday evening in unincorporated Woodstock sent two people to the hospital.

The Woodstock Fire Rescue District responded to a report of a crash at 4:27 p.m. Sunday after two motorcycles collided at the intersection of Davis Road and Stieg Road in an unincorporated area of Woodstock, Capt. Karen Bush said Sunday.

McHenry County sheriff's deputies responded a few minutes later, said Deputy Sandra Rogers, the department's spokeswoman. It was determined that the crash occurred between a 59-year-old Lake in the Hills man and a 51-year-old Algonquin man who had been riding their Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycles together.

They were riding east on Davis Road when the 51-year-old slowed down to turn right on Stieg Road, Rogers said in a statement. The 59-year-old did not see that the other driver was slowing and collided with the back of the other motorcycle.

A fire engine and two ambulances were dispatched and both drivers were taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, Bush said. They were reported to be in "good condition" upon leaving the scene, she said.

The 59-year-old man was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, Rogers said.
