Voters seeking to cast their ballot early can do so starting Thursday at the McHenry County Clerk’s Office in the county administration building in Woodstock.

The clerk's office, 667 Ware Road, will be open for early voting 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting this Thursday, according to a notice on the county's website.

All other early voting locations in the county will be open beginning 8:30 a.m. Oct. 19.

Five early voting locations also will have ballot drop boxes available where voters can submit their vote-by-mail ballots. These locations include the McHenry County Administration Building in Woodstock, the McHenry Township office in Johnsburg, the Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills Village Hall and McHenry City Hall.

These also are the five early voting sites that will offer extended hours, remaining open from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays from Oct. 19 until Election Day and offering weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, according to the clerk’s office.

The ballot drop box outside of the county administration building in Woodstock is the only drop box that will be available for use 24 hours a day, according to the clerk’s office. The ballot drop boxes at the four other early voting sites only will be available during the hours of operation set by that location.

The Huntley Park District administrative office, Cary Area Public Library and Algonquin Area Public Library will be open for early voting weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and also will offer weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 and Oct. 31.
