Earlville boys fall to Marquette at Pine Hills; Sandwich girls drop dual to Kaneland

The Ottawa Pirates boys golf team posted their best dual match score of the season in a 154-199 victory over Interstate Eight Conference foe Plano on Monday at Deer Park Golf Club.

Drake Kaufman led the charge for the Pirates by carding a medalist score of 37, with Drake Stoudt [38], Michael Bruner [39] and Jonathan Cooper [40] adding solid efforts in the win. Caden Ericzon had a 42 and Nick Angus a 45 for OHS.

Marquette 180, Earlville 200

At Pine Hills, the Red Raiders struggled with their short game and missed a number of birdie/par putts, according to coach Dillon Reel, in the loss to the Crusaders.

Jeremy Weymouth paced Earlville with a 46, followed by Rocco Morsovillo [50], Jacob Pickert [51] and Ryan Browder [53].

Kaneland 190, Sandwich 207

At Hughes Creek Golf Course, the Lady Indians dropped to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in the I8 with the loss to the host Lady Knights.

Alijah Campbell led Sandwich with a 42, while Morgan Ross had a 51, Hanna Reedy a 56 and Grace Donahue a 58.

Pirates, Lady Pirates run against Sycamore, Morris in I8

The Ottawa Lady Pirates defeated Morris 27-29, but fell to Sycamore 15-50, while the Pirates dropped both duals, 21-40 to Morris and 23-38 to Sycamore at Catlin Park on Monday.

Grace Carroll [20 minutes, 15 seconds] won the girls race for OHS, followed by Lainey Billings [4th, 21:57], Lexi Jett [11th, 23:02] and Eva Heimsoth [12th, 23:02]. In the boys event, Liam Tipple [18:50] placed 8th to lead the locals, followed by Thomas Reinhardt [9th, 18:56], Aaron Noble [20th, 20:53] and Daniel Reinhardt [21st, 21:00].

Indians, Lady Indians both top Rochelle

The Sandwich Indians ran past I8 foe Rochelle 15-50, while the Lady Indians posted a 19-37 victory over the Lady Huns at Silver Springs Forest Preserve on Monday.

The Indians took the first five places in the boys race: Steve Aguilar [1st, 16:59], Max Cryer [2nd, 18:03], Johnny Rizzuto [3rd, 18:06], Wyatt Miller [4th, 18:08] and Dayton Beatty [5th, 18:19]. The Lady Indians also ran well with Alana Stahl [1st, 21:28], Claire Roberts [3rd, 22:13], Molly Roberts [4th, 22:36], Peyton Rogers [5th, 23:23] and Prayer Sommers [6th, 25:24], all contributing to the win.

Crusaders, Lady Crusaders both third at Roanoke quad

Marquette senior Lucas Hoffman continued his strong fall on Monday as he won his fifth-consecutive event in a course-record time of 14:53 at Roanoke Park, while Nate Nelson placed 9th in 18:14. The Lady Cru were led by Lilly Craig [5th, 21:03] and Ella Biggins [9th, 23:17].

At Deer Park Golf Club, Dan Bruner earned medalist honors with a 43 for the victorious Corsairs, while Alex Billings and Turner Love added 44s and Cam Loomis a 45.
