McHenry County reports 87 new cases of COVID-19 from over weekend

No additional deaths reported since Friday

The McHenry County Department of Health reported 87 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths since Friday's update.

This brings countywide totals to 4,430 confirmed cases, 118 related deaths and two probable deaths as of Monday evening. The county's recovery rate currently sits at 97%.

McHenry County residents have been tested a total of 71,881 times since the pandemic began, according to county-specific data collected by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The Kane County Health Department reported a total of 12,714 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 327 deaths Monday.

The Lake County Health Department reported a total of 16,436 confirmed cases and 460 related deaths.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported a total of 275,735 confirmed cases and 8,457 related deaths. So far, Illinois has conducted a total of 5,143,387 COVID-19 tests. The statewide recovery rate is 96%.

Among McHenry County ZIP codes, Crystal Lake (60014) had the highest number of COVID-19 cases with a total of 669 confirmed cases, according to county data. Woodstock (60098) follows with 668 cases.

The McHenry County health department reports only ZIP code data that is located within McHenry County, a department spokeswoman said. Any discrepancies between county and Illinois Department of Public Health numbers are likely because of the data's provisional nature and because each health department finalizes its data at different times, she said.

Three ZIP codes in McHenry County (61038, 60135 and 60072) have reported five cases or fewer, according to the health department.
