Coronavirus relief requests now being accepted from small business, nonprofits

KANE COUNTY – Kane County will accept applications from small businesses and nonprofit organizations for Coronavirus Relief Funds after webinars are completed on Sept. 18, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office announced in a news release.

This is the planned expansion of the relief fund application process, which began in early September for municipalities, fire protection districts, townships, park districts, municipal libraries and the Kane County Forest Preserve, the release stated.

The U.S. Department of Treasury allocated more than $92 million in coronavirus relief funds to Kane County though the CARES Act to ease the impact of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic in our communities.

To help distribute the funds, the Kane County Board established the CARES Act Allocation Committee under the direction of State's Attorney Joe McMahon and in collaboration with the county's Office of Community Reinvestment.
