ST. CHARLES – A St. Charles has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing a minor.

Eduardo Castillo-Vivaldo, 26, of the 1800 block of Wessel Court, St. Charles. has been charged with two counts of felony criminal sexual assault and four counts of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

According to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, Castillo-Vivaldo initially contacted the victim via social media and, despite being told multiple times that the victim is a minor, continued to contact the victim via social media.

On Aug. 20, 2020, he allegedly drove to the victim’s home in northwestern Kane County and, using force and despite the victim’s pleas to stop, sexually assaulted the victim, the release stated.

Kane County Circuit Judge Michael Noland signed a warrant for Castillo-Vivaldo’s arrest and set his bail at $100,000, with 10 percent ($10,000) to apply for bond.

On Monday, he surrendered to police and appeared Tuesday in Kane County bond court. His next court appearance is set for Sept. 18.
