STERLING – A woman was ejected, but believed to not have life-threatening injuries, after the vehicle she was a passenger in struck an electrical pole and overturned on Emerson Road Tuesday afternoon.

The rollover, reported shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, involved a single vehicle with two occupants, including the woman. She and the driver were transported to CGH Medical Center.

According to preliminary information shared by emergency responders at the scene, the vehicle was east bound near 22800 Emerson Road, when for "unknown reasons" it lost control, veered off the road and hit an electrical pole, causing it to become airborn.

The vehicle, authorities said, completed at least two full rotations before it came to a rest tires down, with its hood pointed westbound, in the south roadside ditch.

The woman passenger was ejected from the vehicle amid the rolls, authorities said. She was not diagnosed with any life-threatening injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
