Motorcycle operator killed after swerving to avoid animal in Minooka: coroner

The operator of a motorcycle was killed after he swerved his vehicle to avoid striking an animal at an intersection in Minooka, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Raymond Navarro, 57, of Lake Station, Indiana, was pronounced deceased at 3:26 a.m. at the intensive care unit at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, according to the coroner’s office.

Navarro was the operator of a motorcycle that swerved to avoid striking an animal on Wednesday at the intersection of East Condor Court and South Bell Road in Minooka, officials said.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date pending medical chart review, police and toxicological reports, officials said.
