The Next Picture Show in Dixon announces its Abstract Art exhibit winners

DIXON – Winners of the Absolutely Abstract Art Exhibition, on display from 10 a..m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment through Aug. 29, at The Next Picture Show Community Fine Arts Center, 113 W. First St., are:

• Best of Show: “Blood and Tears 1873,” mixed media, by Steve Toole of Ashton

• First place: “Choosing to Corrupt the Bond,” mixed media, by Jon Wildman of Dixon

• Second place: “Reflect," acrylic on canvas, by John DeLong of Dixon

• Third place, “Pop the Cork,” cold wax and oil, by Kent Broadbent of Annawan

Honorable mention winners are:

• “Am I Blue?” diptych, by Peg Miller of Dixon

• “Ocean Wave,” glass vase, by Valerie Butcher of Rock Falls

• “Mushroom,” watercolor, by Laura Coffman of Ashton

• “Myakka Park Reflections," digital photograph by David Bingaman of Dixon
