Coronavirus update: Eighth confirmed case in Marshall County

A male in his 40s from Marshall County has tested positive for COVID-19. He is recovering in isolation at home at this time.

Public officials at the Bureau, Putnam, Marshall County Health Department are in the beginning stages of the investigation and are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the case. Federal privacy restrictions prohibit the release of any additional information regarding this case. No further information regarding the investigation is available at this time.

This is the third confirmed case reported in Marshall County since June 18. There is currently one active COVID-19 case in Bureau County and three active cases in Marshall County, according to Laurie Geuther, communicable disease nurse for Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Department.

There have been 33 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the counties served by the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Department. Bureau County has had 24 confirmed cases and one death related to COVID-19. Marshall County has had eight confirmed cases. Putnam County has had one confirmed case. The first case was reported in Marshall County on March 23.
