German makes all-MAC team a third time

Eugene German was the only Northern Illinois men’s basketball player selected to the all-Mid-American Conference team announced Wedneday, earning the first-team distinction for the first time.

German averaged 20.5 points (tops in the Mid-American Conference as of Wednesday’s release), 2.7 assists and 2.4 made 3-pointers a game, and became the program’s all-time leading scorer. German moved into fifth place all-time on the MAC scoring list this season with 2,203 career points.

Akron’s Loren Christian-Jackson was the player of the year.

The senior Huskies guard previously was on the all-MAC team as a second-team selection for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

NIU will play Miami in the MAC Tournament at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Rocket Mortage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
