State cops jail 2 on child porn charges

The Illinois State Police arrested and jailed two men on child pornography charges over the course of two days last week.

State police investigators first collared 51-year-old Matthew Ferrari of Romeoville on Wednesday.

“ISP Investigators initiated an investigation after receiving information Ferrari was allegedly engaged in possessing child pornography,” according to a statement released by the state police Thursday.

“A thorough investigation ensued, and through the investigation, investigators gathered evidence supporting the arrest,” police said in the release.

Ferrari was booked into the Will County jail about noon Wednesday. He appeared in court Thursday afternoon, records show, and was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography.

Ferrari’s bond was set at $25,000, and he remained in custody at the county jail Friday evening.

The investigation of Ferrari “remains open and ongoing,” according to the state police.

Then, on Thursday, the state police picked up 54-year-old David Marvin under identical circumstances as those surrounding the investigation and arrest of Ferrari, according to a statement released Friday.

Marvin was booked into the Will County jail about 2 p.m. Thursday.

The investigation of Marvin also “remains open and ongoing,” according to state police.

Marvin was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, but his bond information was not available.

Marvin remained in custody at the county jail Friday evening.
