Vintage Shop Hop set Friday, Saturday

Area merchants are busy preparing for the crowds of shoppers expected Friday and Saturday during the seventh annual Vintage Shop Hop.

More than 400 shops throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois are participating in the Vintage Shop Hop, which takes place twice a year in March and October.

Founder Ann Campos from Roscoe started the event to help small businesses through the quiet time between Christmas and Easter and to give shoppers the opportunity to have a day or two out with their friends and family after being indoors all winter.

Each of the 10 participating Sycamore businesses will offer a punch-card promotion in which one winner will receive either a Gal Pal Weekend Getaway or a Gift Card Giveaway. No purchase necessary.

The Gal Pal Weekend Getaway includes a night at the Country Inn and Suites, gift cards for La Dolce Vita, The Pantry, Nat’s on Maple, Prairie on State Winery and the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce.

The Gift Card Giveaway includes gift cards from the 10 participating businesses: Blumen Gardens, Christian Connection, Lizzy’s Pink Boutique, Made Just for You, Rustic Roots, SIS – Shop in Style, Sycamore Antiques, Sweet Earth Jewelry and Gifts, UOI Boutique and Whimsical Perspective.

Participating businesses in DeKalb include Antique Treasures, Blu Door Decor, Cracker Jax, Found. Home & Vintage, Perchance250, Poppy Seed Primitives and This & That Collectibles.

Also participating are Old Barn Salvage and Patches N Pickens in Genoa and The Copper Cow in Kingston.
