Erin Henze became the most prolific scorer in Eastland basketball history, male or female, with 27 points in the Cougars’ 66-25 win over AFC on Monday.

Having already broken Nicole Brinker’s record for the girls program at the Reindeer Games at Boylan in December, Henze surpassed Dalton Shaner’s school record of 1,754 points Monday. Henze now has 1,760.

Karlie Krogman added 12 points and Meredith Janssen and Lydia Coatney each scored eight for Eastland. Janssen and Krogman each had nine rebounds. Coatney had four assists.

Camdyn Penick had 12 points for the Raiders. Sophie Berkeley had five rebounds.

Amboy 84, Polo 50: Abi Payne scored 26 points as the Clippers cruised past the Marcos in Amboy.

The Clippers led 35-14 after one quarter and 57-27 at halftime, with Payne scoring 23 in the first half.

Mallory Powers scored 18 for Amboy in the game. Olivia Dinges added 10. Ashley Althaus scored eight.

Becca Wagner scored 10 points and Natalie Nelson added nine for the Marcos.

Fulton 33, Rockridge 30: The Steamers snuck past the Rockets on the road.

Emily Schipper led Fulton with 13 points. Liz Fish tacked on eight.

Fulton trailed 10-7 after one quarter and 18-12 at halftime before scoring 14 points in the third quarter to take a 26-25 lead after three.

Orion 45, Morrison 29: The Fillies dropped a Three Rivers road game.

Kendra Fisher led Morrison with 16 points, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers.

Erie-Prophetstown 47, Princeton 38: The Panthers secured a home Three Rivers Conference win.

Mak Glassburn led E-P with 15 points and Ella Heyvaert added 12. Baylee Anderson and Kara Schipper each scored eight.

Princeton led 15-8 after one quarter but E-P bounced back to lead 22-21 at halftime and 35-32 after three quarters, with Heyvaert scoring six in the second quarter and six more in the third.


Sterling 140, Clinton 35: The Water Warriors swept all of the varsity events for a win over the River Kings.

Jake Wike, Skylar Drolema, Reiley Austin and Calvin Sandefer won the medley relay in 1 minute, 41.25 seconds.

The same group won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:31.66. Austin, Mason Adams, Luke Valentino and Michael Garland won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:38.40.

Adams won the 200 freestyle. Wike won the individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Sandefer won the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Drolema won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Austin won the 100 freestyle.

Kevin Lemus won the diving competition with 160.90 points.

Boys bowling

Sterling 3,113, Erie-Prophetstown 2,663: The Warriors extended their winning streak to six with a win over the Panthers in Morrison.

Carter Schlegel had a 211 first game in a 567 series. Ethan Melcher had a 219 first game and a 531 series. Sterling also got a 519 from Cabot McLaughlin, a 517 from Andrew Doughty, a 502 from Adan Ramirez and a 477 from Jordan Glazier.

Erie-Prophetstown had a 525 series from Jaron Gibson, capped off by a 223 third game. Michael Miner rolled512, Bryce VanDeWostine had a 429, James Pursley had a 418 and Lucca Sweetser had a 410.

Dixon 3,217, South Beloit 2,893: The Dukes picked up with road Big Northern Conference win.

Trevor White rolled a 636 series, which included a 257 game, and Tyler Yocum added a 573 series for the Dukes.
