Harvard police reports

Information in police reports is obtained from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and municipal police departments. Individuals listed in police reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proven guilty in court.

• A 37-year-old Harvard man reported to Harvard police at 3:31 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, that someone had damaged a play set in his yard, located in the 300 block of West Burbank Street, sometime the previous night. There was no value listed for this damage.

• A 31-year-old Harvard man reported at 7:57 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, that a man had threatened to physically harm him and possibly displayed a knife during the previous night in the zero to 100 block of North Ayer Street. Harvard police said they arrested Antonio Rodriguez, 39, of the zero to 100 block of North Ayer Street, Harvard, for assault. Rodriguez posted $120 bail and was released.

• Harvard police said they arrested Sergio Flores-Juarez, 28, of the 700 block of East McKinley Street, Harvard, at 7:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, for leaving the scene of a property-damage crash. Flores-Juarez also was ticketed for leaving the scene of a property-damage crash, failure to give information regarding property damage, failure to give information regarding unattended property, failure to report a crash to police and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. He was arrested after someone discovered at 7:33 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, that a car struck a stop sign and fire hydrant at the intersection of Airport Road and Shadow Drive sometime during the previous night. Flores-Juarez posted $250 bail and was released.

• Harvard police said they arrested Brian K. Angelo, 44, and David A. Carey, 40, both of the 4400 block of 11th Street, Rockford, at 7:53 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, for retail theft after someone reported they took several miscellaneous items from Walmart on Dec. 6 without paying for them. Officers didn't specify what items were reported stolen. Angelo also was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for a previous theft charge. Angelo was taken to the McHenry County Jail in lieu of bond. Carey was issued a nontraffic notice to appear citation for retail theft, a Harvard ordinance violation. Carey was released.

• Harvard police said officers arrested Damien A. Darling,19, of the 500 block of Shadow Drive, Harvard, at 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, for retail theft after someone reported that he went by the last point of sale at an unidentified store in Harvard without paying for several DVDs and cosmetic items. Darling posted $150 bail and was released.
