Will County had spelling bee on March 7

Will County Regional Superintendent of School Shawn Walsh, along with the primary sponsor ComEd, hosted the annual Spelling Bee on March 7 at Lockport Township High School.

Megan Cereno, eighth grade student from St. Dominic School in Bolingbrook, outlasted students from 48 schools throughout Will County to win the Spelling Bee in the 11th round by spelling “attrition.”

Megan went on to compete at the National Spelling Bee at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

The sponsors for the Spelling Bee are ComEd, Will County Regional Office of Education, Lockport Township High School, Merriam-Webster, Inc. and Encyclopedia Britannica.
