(Sean King)Caroline Caesar, St. Francis, senior, catcher: In 27 games entering the state tournament, Caesar, a Hope College commit, had 43 RBIs, matching teammate Carlee Clark for the team lead. Caesar had a .547 batting average with 13 doubles and 11 home runs. Caesar had four home runs in one game against St. Edward. (Jeff Krage)Carlee Clark, St. Francis, senior, pitcher: The Spartans senior had a 16-1 record entering the state tournament for the Spartans, who took second place in Class 3A in their first state appearance. In 140 innings pitched, Clark struck out 183, walking just 38. Clark had a 1.75 earned run average. Clark is headed to Southern Illinois University. Gardner also hit to a .469 average with 30 RBIs. Sam Keller, Geneva, junior, shortstop: Helping lead Geneva to its first sectional title, the Winona State commit had six home runs to complement her 14 doubles and four triples. Keller batted .486 with a .598 on-base percentage. Roach had a .976 slugging percentage. Sobieski hit 11 doubles, four doubles and hit .378. Maddy Stout, St. Charles East, senior, outfield: The University of Indianapolis commit smashed nine home home runs with 14 doubles and 35 RBIs for the Class 4A state runner-ups. Stout hit .443 and slugged .817. Emily Viebrock, Geneva, junior, first base: Viebrock led Geneva with 30 RBIs, as 14th-seeded Vikings knocked off No. 1 seed Yorkville and No. 2 seed Downers Grove South en route to first sectional title. Viebrock hit .376 with eight doubles, two triples, two homers. Wooten had 40 RBIs and hit 20 doubles.
