Logan G. Massey, 18, Ottawa, was arrested Wednesday at Thorntons, 102 W. Etna Road, on complaints of retail theft and unlawful possession of alcohol. Massey was released and given a court date.


Patience McDonald, 24, Streator, was cited at 7:36 a.m. Wednesday at 715 S. Bloomington St. on complaints of driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. McDonald was released on bond.

Streator police responded at 2:39 p.m. Wednesday to Walmart, 2415 N. Bloomington St., for a complaint of shoplifting. The incident remains under investigation.

Streator police responded at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of West Kent Street for a report of a chair being stolen off of a porch.

La Salle County

Sharon Sebastian, 58, Carlock, was cited at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at East 16th Road and North 30th Road in Ottawa Township on a complaint of improper lane usage. Sebastian was traveling south on East 16th Road and was distracted and lost, according to police reports. Sebastian veered into the northbound lane and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Maggie Okray, 19, Ottawa. No injuries were reported.

Fire calls

Streator firefighters responded at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday to 606 E. Morrell St. for an alarm caused by cooking smoke.

Streator firefighters responded at 7:44 p.m. Wednesday to 219 W. 11th St. for an illegal burn that was put out by the owner upon arrival.

Streator firefighters responded at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday to 604 Bazore St. for a carbon monoxide detector alarm. The detector was determined to be faulty.
