Ottawa

Matthew Garcia, 30, Streator, was cited on Tuesday in the 2500 block of Route 23 on complaints of driving while license suspended, no valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Garcia was released on I-bond.

Michael J. Brennan, 34, Ottawa, was cited Tuesday in the 600 block of Chambers Street on complaints of driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Brennan was released on a $160 bond.

Austin J. Rodriguez, 20, Ottawa was arrested Tuesday at his residence on a La Salle County warrant for driving while license suspended. Rodriguez was taken to the county jail.

Aaron D. Farrell, 41, Ottawa, was arrested Wednesday in the 2100 block of Somerset Drive on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant, two counts of domestic battery and criminal trespass to state supported property. Farrell was taken to the county jail.

Streator

Streator police responded at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday to 609 N Everett St. for a report of a burglary. The incident is under investigation.

Michael Smith, 40, Streator, was arrested at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday at Pizza Hut, 1619 N Bloomington St., on La Salle County warrants for aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to land. Smith was taken to the county jail.

Streator police responded at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday to 502 W. Frech St. for a report of a garage door being damaged to gain access to the building. Nothing was reported missing and the incident is under investigation.

Fire calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 5:06 a.m. Wednesday to 1200 W. Lafayette St. for a report of a transformer that exploded. No fire was found but a melted piece was found on the ground. Ameren was contacted.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday to Cora Pope Home, 116 W. Prospect Ave., for an alarm caused by ongoing construction.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday to 1622 Chestnut St. for a carbon monoxide alarm but no carbon monoxide was detected.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 9:04 a.m. Tuesday to 1100 E. Norris Drive for alarms set off by heat in a boiler room. No fire detected.

Streator firefighters responded at 3 a.m. Wednesday to 201 W. First St. for a report of downed power lines. Firefighters remained on scene until the utilities fixed the issue.

Streator firefighters responded at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday to 708 Lundy St. for an illegal burn, which was put out.

Streator firefighters responded at 11:24 a.m. Monday to 608 N Everett St. for an activated alarm but no fire was detected.
