ST. CHARLES – Kingdom Global Impact Center, which started in the back of a farmhouse in 1991 as one of the first Baptist churches in Kane County, has grown into so much more.

“We have been in the TriCity area for 28 years, just under a different name,” founder and senior pastor the Rev. Dr. Theresa Phillips said. “We started as Praise Ministries in Geneva a long time ago. Now we’ve changed our name, our focus and our location.”

Now at 1150 N. Fifth Ave., St. Charles, Kingdom Global Impact Center is a church with worship services, but it also focuses on education. The church also has created courses that can be taken for credit and credentialing.

Although its congregation is small at only 30 people, it has ordained more than 275 people to preach worldwide and has a national and international online following of nearly 15,000 people.

Most of those are followers on its Facebook page, facebook.com/KingdomGIC, and several thousand are from globalpropheticlive.com, where Phillips does live broadcasts and talks about the prophecy and gifts based on the scriptures.

Phillips doesn’t do this alone. She has a pastoral team behind her to help her, which includes her husband co-pastor the Rev. Chaplain Technical Sgt. Robert Phillips; associate pastor Michael Stevenson and healing pastor the Rev. Karen Tews.

“We love St. Charles, and we’re hoping we can all make a difference here,” Theresa Phillips said.

Theresa Phillips is very proud of the Pray Program the church has for the children at Kingdom Global Impact Center. Available for kids in kindergarten through 12 grade, it teaches them honor, respect, church, home, family and communication skills.

“It’s very basic but very solid,” she said.

There is also Sunday school available for children – and adults – on Sunday morning at 9:50 a.m. Chapel services are held on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Kingdom Global Impact Center has a donation program called Be a Hero to a Hero. Its mission is to raise awareness of the needs of local veterans. In doing so, the church raises money and hand delivers more than 600 Christmas stockings every year, with each containing toiletries, socks, T-shirts and a Beanie Baby.

“We are caring for the community in ways that others are not,” Theresa Phillips said. “We are also proud to be the healing room of St. Charles where you can come pray for the sick every month with trained facilitators.”

The center has a women’s bible study and prayer group that meets at 11 a.m every Tuesday, where women can learn and grow in all seven cultural spheres of influence – business; arts and entertainment; family; government and military; faith; education; and media.

“I also encourage all the women in the area to join me at the Destiny Arising International Summit in July where I will be among a group of international speakers who will teach, strengthen and inspire women of all ages and backgrounds on how to complete their purpose,” Theresa Phillips said.
