Vernon Hills advances to state semifinal

Vernon Hills football team advanced to the IHSA state semifinals Saturday with a 17-0 win over Marian-Central. The No. 7-seeded Cougars (9-3) travel to No. 13 Sycamore (8-4) for a chance to play for a state championship. Photojournailst Candace Johnson was at last weekend's quarterfinal to capture the action.
