Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center announces 'Physician of the Year'

JOLIET – Surgeon Dr. Brian Winkleman was honored by Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center (PSJMC) as the 2015 "Physician of the Year" last Thursday at the annual Physician Recognition Night.

Winkleman joined Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center (PSJMC) as a general surgeon in 2009. He is board certified in general surgery and specializes in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.

He is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, robotic, and bariatric surgery.

Dr. Winkleman performs a variety of laparoscopic procedures including hernia repair, anti-reflux operations, solid organ and colon resection. He specializes in laparoscopic gastric banding, gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy

The event also celebrated the long-standing service anniversaries of PSJMC physicians.
