ABOUT: Saluting its 15th season, BAMtheatre of Hinsdale stages the musical "Les Miserables" as its high school and college intensive production. Artistic Director Melanie Lamoureux and Max Cervantes direct 60 actors from 25 communities.

ABOUT: Noted vocalists will star in Wheaton Drama's summer fundraiser, "Cabaret A La Carte." The three independent acts are "He Said, She Said: A Broadway Gender-Bender," featuring Harmony Barry Hickey, Susan Able Barry, Zach Gibson and Eric Rasmussen; "Listen With Your Heart: The Music of Alan Menken," with Christine and David Pfenninger; and "Stalkers: Songs About Love," with Kelley Buesse and Jim Molina. Short receptions with each cast are accompanied by refreshments.

ABOUT: The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will play amid the trees at The Morton Arboretum. Friday's program goes Russian with works by Stravinsky, including "The Firebird," and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2. Saturday's program presents music of Berlioz ("Symphonie fantastique) Glinka and Haydn (Trumpet Concerto). James Feddeck conducts. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. Food is welcome, but not outside alcoholic beverages.

ABOUT: Cantigny will present three symphony concerts outdoors, including a free Thursday show to cap the day-long celebration of the park's 60th anniversary on July 30. They are performed Ravinia style under the oaks outside the First Division Museum. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, and picnics are welcome.
