BATAVIA – As Batavia police continue to investigate a two-vehicle crash that took place Friday morning at Route 31 and Fabyan Parkway, they are looking for witnesses to the crash.

The driver of a white compact Chevrolet SUV was taken by ambulance to Delnor Hospital in Geneva after being extricated from the vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, a gray, full-sized Ford pickup truck, refused fire department transportation and was taken to Delnor Hospital by family, said Jami White, a Batavia Fire battalion chief.

White said it did not appear that the injuries were life threatening. He did not know their conditions as of late Friday afternoon. The two drivers were the only people in both vehicles. Firefighters responded to the scene at about 11 a.m.

Southbound traffic on Route 31 had been detoured after the crash. The intersection was reopened at about 12:30 p.m.

Anyone with information relevant to the investigation of the accident can contact Batavia Police Detective Tom Doggett at 630-454-2500.
