BATAVIA – Those who love the food at Aliano's Ristorante can get it to go starting today.
Aliano’s Express – the restaurant’s carryout, delivery and catering business – will open at 11 a.m. today. It is at 70 S. Island Ave. in downtown Batavia, immediately south of Aliano’s Ristorante. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
Aliano’s Express will sell a variety of entrées, including wings, half-pound burgers, custom wraps, pizza, deli sandwiches and homemade desserts. It also will sell pizza by the slice.
“We are specializing in our wings,” owner Mario Aliano said. “We’re going to have 20 different flavors of wings. We’ll make our sandwiches right in front of you.”
A grand opening celebration for Aliano’s Express will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 7.
Aliano said the public is invited to be part of the celebration, which will include free samples. As the name implies, Aliano’s Express will offer fast service.
“This is basically no wait – come in, order and you are out within five minutes,” Aliano said.
As part of the expansion project, several kitchen improvements were made. Aliano said the improvements have reduced wait times at Aliano's Ristorante.
“The wait was a problem,” he said. “The wait times at the tables were over an hour. We don’t have that any more. You will get your food now on a Friday or Saturday night within 20 to 25 minutes. Now you are going to get your food, same quality, but faster at your table.”
Aliano’s is known for its authentic and fresh food. Aliano said the restaurant’s food is made as ordered and everything is homemade, including its sauces, meatballs and pasta.
With Aliano’s Express, the restaurant now will be able to cater larger parties and deliver to a 10-miles radius outside of Batavia, Aliano said. That includes the Tri-Cities, North Aurora, Aurora and parts of Sugar Grove and Warrenville, he said.
Along with the opening of Aliano's Express, Aliano's Ristorante also has expanded its entertainment offerings. A piano bar has been added from 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays, Aliano said.
