Marklund Day School in Bloomingdale names new director of education

BLOOMINGDALE – A new face has joined the staff at Marklund Day School in Bloomingdale.

The school recently named Paula Bodzioch of Glen Ellyn as the new director of education. She will oversee all education services provided by the Marklund Day School and Life Skills Program at 164 S. Prairie Ave.

Bodzioch previously served as assistant principal of curriculum, instruction and assessment and department chair of special education at Bolingbrook High School. As chair, she supervised a staff of 100 and was responsible for 450 children.

The new director also worked as a student resource team leader and special education teacher at the high school.

“I am confident that, with her guidance, the Marklund Day School will become a leader in providing education to children with special needs, complex medical issues and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum," said Gil Fonger, president and CEO of Marklund.

Bodzioch has a bachelor’s degree in education from Benedictine University in Lisle, master’s degree in technical leadership from St. Xavier University in Chicago and certificate of advanced study from Lewis University in Romeoville.
