Many audition for ‘Nutcracker’ at State Street Dance Studio

GENEVA – State Street Dance Studio, 9 N. Fourth St., in Geneva, recently held open auditions for its annual production of "The Nutcracker."

Auditions for the Tchaikovsky classic holiday ballet were held at the studio Aug. 28. With nearly 100 auditioners throughout the afternoon, dancers and adults between 3 and 80 years old came to try out and be a part of the show.

State Street will be presenting its 8th annual performance of the holiday ballet at the Norris Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles in December.

"This will be our best show yet," said Linda Cunningham, director of "The Nutcracker." "The object is to be better every year."

Performances will be held at the Norris Cultural Arts Center at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 and 2 p.m. Dec. 18. For more information about "The Nutcracker" and State Street Dance Studio, call 630-232-0444.
